Daddy is Funny!

Today Anthony and I had dentist appointments and we took Levi with us too! We schedualed our appointments back to back so that we could each take turns watching Levi, however they were running ahead of schedual so they got Anthony in early while I was finishing up. So the receptionist ladies took Levi for us! And MAN did he love all that attention!! It was so cute...I come out of the back and here is about 5 ladies all laughing at Levi because he is making faces and smiling at them all!! They were so nice and helpful to watch Levi for us, and I think they enjoyed it too! This video was taken today when we got home from the dentist...Levi was really excited that daddy was making him laugh!

My letter to Levi

I wrote this letter to Levi last week. I wrote it to put it in his scrapbook so that he could read it someday.

July 24, 2008
Dear Levi-
As I write this letter, you are sitting in our living room playing with your toys. You are almost 8 months old now! I don’t know where the past 8 months have gone and while they have been some of the most tiring and stressful months of my life, they have been the most enjoyable and rewarding months as well!
As I watch you now, you are one mischievous little boy. You start our playing with your toys and then you sneak over to mommy’s drink coasters and picture frames and start banging on them. You look at me, smile and crinkle your nose, and I can’t help but smile back!
You are one very determined little boy. Daddy says that you have the personality to be a great leader some day! You are very driven to learn new things. You just learned to crawl a few weeks ago, but that isn’t good enough for you! Now you are standing and acting like you want to walk. You have lots of energy and are sometimes very hyper, just like your daddy. In turn, daddy says that you have a temper just like your mommy. We’re just teasing you, but you do get very upset when you don’t get whatever it is you want! You are a little boy filled with spunk and with life and I love that about you. If I am sad, I can look at you and you make it better.
Just a few moments ago you came over to me and grabbed my arm and starting “eating” it like it was a piece of corn on the cob! And when I moved you away from my arm, you threw a holy fit! Oh Levi, we have lots of lessons to learn, and trust me, we will.
Thank you for teaching me so much. You give me no choice but to love you unconditionally. You bring such joy into mine and your daddy’s lives. You make us smile and laugh, cry and get frustrated, you make us give up our own wishes and wants sometimes, but in the end it is completely worth it.
I must go now- you are reaching for my hands. The shirt you are wearing today pretty much sums up your personality. It says, “My Mom THINKS she’s in charge!” We certainly look forward to what you become as you grow up, but just don’t grow up too fast. And do remember always that it won’t be about WHO you are, but WHOSE you are, and we pray that your heart will someday belong to Jesus. We love you!
Love, Your Mom

Bathtime Fun!

Here are some pictures I took of Levi in the tub tonight!
He was being very photogenic for me, so I went to town!

Here he is being the mischievious boy that he is!!
One of these days, he is going to knock his head on
the faucet and find out how bad that hurts!

I gave Levi a mohawk....too bad he
doesn't have enough hair to tell!!

This was the last smiling picture I got of Levi
before he started his "up and down" thing which
eventually led to him falling and bonking his head.

Here's what his "bonk" looked like once I got him out!

Gettin' Out of the Bath

So bathtime for Levi has jumped to a whole new level. He has graduated from his baby tub to the real thing. The only thing is is that he is also wanting to crawl everywhere, so guess what that means?! Yep, the boy wants to crawl all over in the tub. I usually let him explore around and he has actually gotten pretty good and not slipping down. Whenever he tries standing though, which he does almost every 5 seconds, I tell him "no" and sit him back down. So this goes on over and over and over for pretty much the whole bath time. Needless to say, Levi used to get really long baths and enjoy the play time. I really enjoyed this time, as it was 15 min. of my day that I too could relax and enjoy watching him play. Instead now...I tell him no over and over and tell him, Okay Levi, do it once more and mommy is getting you out. Poor boy doesnt know the word no YET, but we are working on it. So yes, his baths are fairly short!
I'll have to get a picture of him in the big tub...he is really funny. Daddy will have to be home for that though....that would be impossible to do without him here!

Another new thing that Levi gets to do after bathtime is play in his room without his clothes on. Yes, I am being daring to keep him without a diaper..but whats a little pee on the carpet gonna do?! He absolutely loves being naked and he loves getting into things. As you can see, he enjoys climbing up on the sweeper! I'll remember this when he is 15 someday and he doesnt want to clean his room!!!

Levi is a little explorer and is really fascinated with anything new. He loves pulling himself up and how can you resist these little blue eyes staring up at you?!!! He does this to me all day long...especially when I am trying to do the dishes. He will crawl over to me, climb up on my leg and give me those little sparkling pouty eyes!! And I can't resist so I pick him up! And I wonder why I always have dishes to do!! I love him so much!

wanna be just like my dad.....

So everytime I go to the store, I always check to see if they have any police clothes. I have found that it's real easy to find fireman stuff, but not so much on the police stuff. However this past week sure enough I found some police PJ's for Levi!! I was so excited! I bought size 18 month thinking I would save them for his birthday, but when I got home I realized that I just couldn't wait! And good thing, because they seem to fit him just right:)

Levi loves playing with his toys!

He thinks he's pretty hot stuff now that he can pull himself up!

Life around our house has definitely gotten more interesting lately. Levi is now crawling and he loves to explore new things! I love watching him play! He is growing so fast and I think he is determined to walk! He loves when you hold his hands and let him take steps forward!! He is laughing more and more everyday and he is beginning to discover that he can make me and Anthony laugh!

My cousin Peyton!

For the past few days, my Aunt Joanna and my cousin Peyton came to visit! We had a good time together and me and my mom and dad took them to the pool with all the fun stuff to do there! I think Peyton was a little scared at first, but I told him it would be okay. We also took a trip to the park and I let him ride with me in my wagon! I also showed him our dog and our cat. Peyton likes animals just like me.

God got an angel today

God must have needed an angel today, and He's getting the best He could get.

This morning around 5 a.m. Carrie (Chivington) Roeth went home to meet Jesus. Please keep her family in your prayers. She battled cancer for 3 years and leaves behind her husband Justin and their 3 yr old son, Jacob. We'll all meet up with her again when this life ends. May her life be a reminder to us all that life is truely what the scriptures tell us...just a vapor....here one second and gone the next. She was a blessing to everyone she knew and a freind to all. We will miss you Carrie! We all know that God has you in charge of something in Heaven and you're already callin' out orders! We'll see ya later....

Falling Springs

Today we went to the big pool!!! The rec center where we sometimes (I should say used to) work out at as a great outdoor pool and today was our first trip there! It took Levi a while to figure out about all the noise and the people and the colors, but once he did, he had a blast!

Going down the big slide! Mommy took her turn to on the bigger slides! She had too much fun on those and even lost her sunglasses!

Anthony took Levi under the mushroom water fall.....he did NOT like that!

Poor Baby.....he did NOT like the waterfall!

Playin' with his toys!

Takin' a ride on the lazy river!

He loved swimmin' in the "deep end" and loved to hold on and have me jump up and down with him!

Passed out after having fun in the sun!! We all can't wait to go back again soon!

Swimming Pool Fun!

We got out Levi's little swimming pool again! This time he had a blast. You could tell that he was more comfortable this time as he would get on his knees and try to crawl in the water!

A few more things....

We got out the pool one day when Grandma was here!

This was the day Levi was feeling well. He layed on the couch and watched his Baby Einstein video for a little while

Here is me and Levi all ready for church. Notice the shoes he is wearing. Thanks Grandma Gheen!! How long did they last on his feet?? I think oh about the first 5 min. at church! :) Pretty good for the first time. When we got home we put Levi on the kitchen floor and sat his shoes beside him. You would of thought he was just given the greatest toy of all time. He studied them and stared at them, and then did was he does the best...picked them up and kissed them all over!

MMMMMMM, Grandma, that sure does look good? Can I have a bite PLEASE?!?!?

Arboretum pictures

Here are some of the pictures mom and I took at the Arboretum. Levi was a trooper. It was pretty hot out and he wasn't the happiest. The second picture was taken when I had Anthony on the cell phone. Daddy can always get Levi to smile :)

We had a good time looking at all of the pretty flowers!

Wagon

Levi is enjoying his new wagon!

New PJ's

Grandma bought Levi some much needed new bigger PJ's!! They were so cute that we decided to go a little picture crazy!

the past few days....

It's Friday already, the week is flying by! Anthony left yesterday with his buddy Scott for their 10 hr trip to Pennsylvania for our freind's wedding. Levi misses his daddy already! Mom, me and Levi have been having a good time though. On Wed. we did some early morning shopping and then hung out at the house the rest of the day. Mom continues to work her butt off getting my house cleaned for me! Yesterday we walked downtown Midway around the shops and Levi made a new freind at the Amish store! We also walked around the campus of Midway's college. We found a creek and let Levi stick his toes in it!

Then last night we went to Lexington and we took Mom to the Arboretum. The flowers were more beautiful than the last time I was there. Levi had his own little picnic under the shade trees because he couldnt last until we got home to eat! I'll post pictures of this later on....

This morning we got out Levi's pool and let him get in for a little while. I think he liked it, although one time he reached out for his toys and he toppled over which scared him! Pictures coming soon....

Levi laughing

This video is from a few weeks ago. It's a little windy, but you can hear Levi laughing at Alex. Alex is just one of the boys that comes over to play with Levi...he loves them all!

Grandma Gheen is here!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, my mom has been here a little over a day now and she has already taken tylenol for her sore back caused by Levi's hugeness!! It's so wonderful having her here and Levi is loving the attention!
On Sunday night, mom watched Levi so Anthony and I could go out!! We had a blast! We saw Anthony's best freind Jeff while he was driving his cruiser at work (we drove Anthony's cruiser as well) and talked with him for a while. We also passed the Woods family, our freinds from church while driving in Anthony's cruiser. That was funny....we passed them and I saw it was them and waved and they were probably like.....why is a passenger in a cop car waving at us?! Then they realized it was just us...it was funny...guess you had to be there!
Then we ate at the Outback and MAN was is GOOD! Then we ran some errands at WalMart and acted like two little kids running around the store! It was wierd not having Levi with us....we felt like we were in college again. But it was so great to come home to our little boy and see him smile at us and get real excited when we walked in! Thanks mom for our free night out!
Then yesterday we cleaned some of the house and then did some shopping! We agreed that it's more fun to shop for Christmas in the summer time. The clothes are cuter and unlike at Christmas time when we are fatter and paler, new summer clothes are just a nice thing to get. So I picked out a dress for me and we got Anthony some khacki shorts. At first I said to wait till Christmas till we got them, but that's dumb to wait while we could wear them now. So thanks mom for part of our Christmas already! We also agreed that it stinks that Levi's birthday is in the winter close to Christmas. When will the boy ever get any fun summer stuff?! So mom brought Levi his first birthday present to him when she got here on Sunday!! A new red wagon!! It's SO COOL! We've already been taking him around the neighborhood in it and we will defintily be using it a lot!! It just makes sense to have it now and to be able to use it instead of waiting till his birthday and then not being able to until spring!
It's now Tuesday and we are making plans already for today! As you can see Levi discovered he has a freind in the mirror:)

Fun Weekend!

We had a great weekend! All 3 of us went out to Bob Evans on Saturday and it was great! Thanks Dad Delimpo for the treat:) Levi did really well as long as I had snacks and his juice in front of him! Then on Sunday our freinds, Kenny and Paula, from church invited us over to their house for dinner! They are pregnant and are having a baby at the end of November so their baby and Levi will be just about 1 yr. exactly apart. What a treat for me not to cook dinner 2 nights in a row!!!

Kenny and Paula with Levi

Now its back to Anthony's work week. We're excited that he has the 4th off this year...the first time he hasn't had to work since we've been married. Hopefully the weather will be nice so we can possibly go to one of the nearby towns celebrations. Levi and I are counting the days till my mom comes down. She's coming on Sunday and staying a week with us! I say Levi and I because Anthony will be gone for half of the time. He is a groomsmen in one of his best buddies from college's wedding. The wedding is in Pennsylvania, so he's got some traveling to do! It'll be the longest he's been away from Levi ever, so I'm sure he's gonna miss his buddy!!

Our cat, Joey bit Levi on the arm! Dumb Cat!

Time is flying by for us. I can't believe it is July! Levi will be 7 months old on the 4th. He's almost crawling now and he is much more interactive with people. The neighbor boys come over and play with him and he laughs his head off at them. I'll try and put up a video of them playing together here in the next few days or so. Levi loves animals too....he especially loved Kenny and Paula's dogs! They make him laugh and when Levi laughs, my heart smiles.

Anthony has been doing lots of yard work outside and our flowers are looking really pretty. Recently our front yard has been overtaken with moles. So we bought the mole killer pellets and put those in there, only to read after the fact that they can be deadly harmful to other animals. So we haven't seen our cat for a day now so I'm starting to wonder....did we kill out cat?!?!?!

I will try and do a better job with updating my blog in the month of July. I emphasize the word TRY!
