SMILE!

Colt is officially having real smiles....not just the gassy ones, but ones in response to something that we do! It's been a lot of fun, even though for now, the smiles are few and far between. It's especially sweet when Levi gets him to grin :) Colt's also learned how to blow bubbles and to stick his tongue out! He is such a pleasant baby! I say that because for the last 2 nights, he has slept through the night from 10 p.m to 5 a.m., woken up to eat and goes right back to sleep till 9 or so. Ask me if I think he's still pleasant when he wakes up more than that during the night! haha :) No, but really...we enjoy him so very much and are very blessed that he's so good!

Sticking his tongue out!

So these 2 pictures would have been fantastic had not a certain 2 year old bumped into me as I was trying to take them! You can still see the smiles though!

It looks like he's winking! Or as Levi would say...doin' the pirate face!

Today Levi is exactly 2 1/2 years old. We heard that if you double their height at this age, that's how you can predict their height full grown. So we did that today and if it holds true, Levi is estimated to be 6 foot 8 inches! Woa baby! We'll see if that happens! Tomorrow Colt will be 6 weeks old...time is flying by!

Here's a picture from Memorial Day with Uncle Jeff! Levi loves him :)

Happy Memorial Day!

We were planning on taking the boys to the parade in Lexington today, but we remembered that the parade was canceled in order to save the city some money- so we didn't get to do that. We did make a day out of it though and we played down at the park and at the big field. The weather today has been beautiful so far! Later tonight, Uncle Jeff is going to come out for dinner with us...that's our way of celebrating this Memorial day....cooking dinner for a U.S. Army Captain! Here's some pictures of the boys today!

Colt's starting to smile more...I almost captured one on camera!

I think this picture is precious...but maybe that's just me!

My new favorite picture of Levi!

And here's a picture of our garden! We've been enjoying the green onions already and the rest of the plants all have vegetables growing on them...it won't be too long!

I'm getting old!

So 2 things happened this weekend to make me realize that my boys are growing up.

1. Levi no longer is calling us mommy and daddy, but mom and dad. He's been hanging out with Trevor, a neighbor boy who is almost 5 and I think Levi hears him call his mom and dad, mom and dad, so he has picked up on that. It's neat in a way to no that he is growing up and developing his grammer, but I miss being called Mommy...at least I still have Colt!

2. Just today I did a load of the boy's laundry and I packed all of Colt's newborn clothes away! This was sad because I know that I won't see anymore of my own kids wearing them. With Levi, it wasn't like that because I knew if we had another boy, I'd see him wear the outfits. So yes, today was a little bittersweet in doing that, but also again, somewhat exciting in a way because I know Colt is growing!

There's a book by Karen Kingsbury called "Let Me Hold You Longer" and it talks about how if I'd known that certain things were going to be my child's last, I would have tried to hold on a little longer. I totally felt that way today as I was packing those little newborn sleepers away. I know that time will pass and my boys will grow up...but I want to hold onto the sweet precious memories that we have together right now and not let them slip away. To all mom's of little ones, I totally recomend this book! It was Levi's favorite book for a while and I remember by the end of the book, I would have tears in my eyes as he would sit next to me with his head on my shoulder. I thank God for these memories :)

On a different note, I wrote this on my facebook yesterday, but thought I would share it on here too. I was on the computer yesterday morning and all 3 of the boys were playing under the bed covers...yes, all 3 boys! Anthony was making some kind of scary sounds when Levi said,"It's okay baby Colt, I will protect you from the monsters, and Jesus will protect you too!" It made my heart smile, so I just thought I would share that with whoever is reading this!

Levi loves holding baby Colt..iit usually starts off good like this...

...and then leads to Levi kissing Colt all over...

...which then leads to Colt screaming his head off!! Notice Levi is trying to calm him down by patting his belly and going "shh, shh, shh"!

Levi's new fishing pole! A few days ago he got to go to the preschool end of the year party up at school with some of the kids in the neighborhood. He went with our neighbors who said that he never moved away from the fishing pond that was set up. They had food and swimming pools and games, but the entire time, Levi went fishing! So I found a pole for him at the grocery store a few days ago and we gave it to him yesterday.

Look Mom, I caught one!

Yes, he is wearing a diaper, but he looks naked!

I can never give Anthony a haircut anymore without Levi asking for one too!

1 month old!

I can't beleive that Colt is 1 month old already! I really don't know where the past month has gone! To celebrate his 1 month, I have decided it's time for me to start exercising again...what a way to celebrate right?! I have dropped 35 lbs and still have about 25 more to go...it's crazy stupid insane that I gained 60 pounds with him, especially since he was such a small baby! Oh-well...hopefully by the end of the summer I will be close to my goal! I will try and get some pictures of Colt up here soon!

Colt meets Grandpa Delimpo and Great Grandma!

A few days ago, Grandpa Delimpo and Great Grandma Delimpo came for a visit. It was their first time meeting Colt so that was fun! Anthony had to work one of the days they were here, so the rest of us went out to Panera for dinner. Despite the cooler wet weather, we still managed to play outside a lot and go on walks. They stayed at a hotel since we no longer have room in our house to have people stay with us. It worked out well that way. Colt got lots of new outfits from Grandpa and Miss Carol (his wife) and from Great Grandma and from Great Aunt Kathy, and Levi got some new books and toys and an outfit too! We had a wonderful visit with them...Levi woke up the next morning and was asking when they were coming back!

Playing outside in the garage (Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Gheen for the new toy mats!!)

My 2 children!

Colt trying to lift his head up! He has certainly changed a lot this past week. He is lifting his head up more and more and his eye contact is getting a lot better! He really follows Levi around with his eyes. Levi likes to dance for him and Colt will watch. Colt has started to make a few ooo sounds, but nothing much. He did sleep through the night last night (9:45 p.m. till 5 a.m. this morning, and actually I had to wake him up at 5 to feed him....I wonder how much longer he would have gone!) So maybe he is in a growth spurt right now and needs the extra rest! I'm certainly not complaining! I can't beleive that in 4 days, he will be a month old! Time is FLYING by!!!!

Yesterday I had layed Colt down on the ground in the living room and I stepped out into the kitchen to get Levi a drink. I was only gone for a few seconds when Levi came out and said.. "Mommy--I jump over baby Colt!!!!!" I instantly ran into the room to make sure Colt was okay and he was, but as I did, Levi sprinted past me and jumped him again! I told myself that's the first and last time I leave Colt on the ground without me right there beside him!

And then this morning I put Colt in his bouncer and left the room for a second only to come back to find Levi bouncing his brother as if he was trying to blast him off into outer space! I said, "LEVI!!! EASY!!! Colt likes to be rocked EASY!!" to which he replied, "No Mommy- Colt likes BIG ONES!"

Okay, and then last week, as I was fixing dinner (Anthony was at work) I had Colt in the kitchen with me when Levi ran out into the garage. It wasn't too long until I heard the loudest crash ever! I ran out into the garage to find Levi laying underneath a shelf with tools all around him and all over the ground! I had tied the door open with some string attached to the shelf. It was really windy out that day and Im guessing the wind blew the door shut just as Levi was walking by I guess! The shelf was somewhat stopped by Anthony's John Deere, but Levi was definitely trapped underneath. He was scared, and got a bump on the side of his head, but other than that, he was fine! It took me a long time to get everything cleaned up, but I managed. When I called Anthony to tell him about the accident, all he wanted to know was that his John Deere was okay! Thanks alot dad!!!!!!!!!!!

I certainily have my hands full!!! Never a dull moment in our household that's for sure!

One more quick story-about Levi. Last night he was riding in his truck when I told him to stay off of daddy's grass. He said, okay and took off. He went straight for the grass. So I stood up and marched over to him. I said, "Levi, this is the last time I am going to tell you...stay out of daddys grass!" I said, "Do you hear me?" He replied, "Yes Mommy" I said, "Okay, what did I say then?" He said, "Stay out of daddy's grass!" I said, "Yes, and if you go in the grass one more time, I am taking away your truck for the night, do you hear me?" To which he replied, "YES SIR" as he saluted me! I seriously lost it!!!! I'm not sure where that came from, but he was so serious as he did it!
