Railroad Drug and Old Time Soda Fountain!

Today was the first day that Railroad Drug was open! For about a year now, our freinds (who live across the street) have been dreaming about opening up their own pharmacy in downtown Midway and today that dream came true!!! Construction has been going on all spring and summer to get it opened, so today was a big day for them! We are so excited about it being in our town and I'm sure we will be spending a lot of time down there...eating ice-cream and candy! haha!
Since Anthony had to work tonight, he went down this morning with the boys while I got groceries and then tonight, I took my turn and went down with the boys! We have been able to watch the progress from when they first bought it before construction to the stage it's in now. They have doen an unbelievable job with the building! It's not all finished yet, as they have more UK stuff to decorate with ;)
The front of the building...it's a really old building with lots of historical charm!

Pharmacist Ken!

His wife Amanda working at the soda fountain...see those blue stools...that's where we'll be sitting, eating our delicious ice-cream!

Levi's 1st purchase at the pharmacy- Skittles!

When I took the boys down to the store in the evening, a train went through town! It was pretty cool!

View from the front door!

Heading back into the pharmacy area.

Both boys down at the store!

Levi's second purchase at the store (buying sweet tarts for daddy who had tried talking Levi into buying them earlier instead of the skittles. When Levi didn't budge, we decided to buy the sweet tarts later for daddy and surpise him when he got home from work!)

Congrats to our freinds Ken and Amanda and their family! We are so proud and happy for you guys! :) We almost look forward to the next time one of us gets sick so we can come get our meds from you!!

Sunday in Ohio!

On Sunday morning, we woke up early and headed to church. It was our first time going to church since it was rebuilt so that was neat. It's always good to go back to my home church!

Here's some pictures of us before heading off to church!

My grandma made it to chuch with us, and afterwards we all went to Cracker Barrel.

Colt's first time to Cracker Barrel!

Later that afternoon, we went swimming at my Aunt Bonnies house again and then that night, we attempted to send Levi to bible school with Grandma. He cried when we left and cried a lot while we were gone, but when we came back to pick him up he was having a pretty good time! We even found him with a headhand on that he had decorated with jewels! It was his first night at bible school, however it was also his last! It's funny though because he now talks about it like it was the greatest thing ever! I don't blame him though..he was in a new place with kids he didn't know...maybe next year!

Anthony and Colt and I were able to go to Taco Bell for dinner that night and then to Wal-Mart to run some errands. Before heading to bed Sunday night, Anthony had made plans with my dad to tear down the deck out back to get ready for the new one. Dad had to go to work on Monday, so Anthony was going to work all day on it to get it done.

Stay tuned for Monday's adventures in Ohio!

A Saturday in Ohio!

We didn't have any plans for Saturday...those usually make the best kind of days! So when we woke up that morning, we decided to go to the Troy Park!

It's a great park because of all the big trees that give you some shade!

I used to go down this slide when I was a kid!

Levi and Daddy gave it a try!

Levi wasn't real thrilled with it...

...but I think Daddy enjoyed it!

Grandma and Colt hanging out in the shade....if only you could see what Anthony and I were doing at this point! (We were on the teeter totter bouncy thing...mom has a picture of it on her camera...I may have to do a blog with her pictures when I get them!)

After the park, we went over to the river!

Anthony and Levi went down to the river to see the geese, while me, Colt and grandma stayed up on the levee and watched them.

It was hot out, but colt was a little trooper!

Playing in the gazeebo (I have no idea how to spell that word!)

Best Buds!

We got home for the boys naps that afternoon and then that evening after dinner my cousin Scott and his family came over to visit. Here's his 3 kids and Levi sitting on Grandma's lap!

After they left, we played corn-hole for a little while before calling it a night...we were getting up early the next morning for church, so we headed to bed early that night!

Stay tuned for Sunday's adventures!

Uncle Ben and Aunt Emily!

Uncle Ben and Aunt Emily didn't arrive till around dinner time on Friday so we had the whole day to hang out and do whatever. I was able to go for a nice country run that morning...I miss running by the bean fields and the corn fields...they go on and on for miles!

Pa-pa and Levi having a deep conversation about soy beans! Levi actually was very intrigued, but of course as soon as I grabbed my camera he started acting like a goofball. He reminds me all the time that Papa calls him a "goonbird" and a "knucklehead"

Making brownies with Grandma...

..and this is the reason that the brownies came out smaller than what they should have! :)

So when Emily and Ben arrived at my parents, we ate and then spent the rest of the evening outside. It took Levi a little while to warm up to them, but once he did...they were best buds! Emily had only met Levi once when he was 3 months old and Ben has never met him, so it was fun to see Levi love on them! In fact, we hadn't seen Ben since their wedding which was 4 years ago! So it was great to see them and catch up on life!

Playing ball outside!

This picture makes me sad in a way because the next time Levi sees them, he may not be able to sit on Uncle Ben's shoulders! He loved them...can't you tell by the expression on his face?! haha!

Of course, we had to make a trip back to the creek to throw rocks in! Aunt Emily even picked up a few BIG ONES for Levi to throw in!

They'll make great parents one day!

Colt meeting his Aunt Emily!

And Uncle Ben, this is what Colt really thinks of you! ;)

We ended up staying up past midnight talking with Emily and Ben, and the only reason we made ourselves go to bed was because they had to leave early the next morning to make the 4 hour drive back to Cleveland. Ben had a flight to catch the next morning back to Texas where they currently live. Emily is doing an internship for her Physical Therapy school at the Cleveland Clinic, so that's why the trip to see us was all possible!

Uncle Ben and Aunt Emily- We appreciate the sacrifice you made to come see us and meet our boys! It was special to see the way Levi took to loving you so easy and so fast. Please hurry up and move to Cleveland so our boys will grow up seeing you at least once a year!

Also on Friday we got a call from our doctor saying that 2 of the viles of Levi's poopy came back negative and that they wouldn't know till the next week about the 3rd. They said however that it wasn't likely that the last test would be positive for anything because it was testing only for types of cancer and a few rare forms of bacteria....stay tuned to find out just what it was!!

Ohio Trip Day 1

Up until a few days before heading up to Ohio, we weren't sure we were going to make it because of Levi's sickness. Praise the Lord we were able to go because we hadn't been up to my parents since November and the time before that was last July...so needless to say, we needed this trip!
We got off on the wrong foot as usual when we make the trip up north. We made it all the way to Georgetown this time when Anthony realized the cell phone charger was still at home. So we turned all the way around and drove the 20 minutes back home to get it. So about 45 minutes later, we took off again! We had to stop about an hour later to feed Colt and grab some lunch for Levi at McDonalds. Thank goodness we didn't hit any major traffic and we made it to my parents safely...although not sanely (if that's even a word!) No, the boys actually did really good....I sat in the back with Levi and Colt was in the front with Anthony. I think he cried for maybe 30 minutes total. I curse the city of Dayton for all of the construction and potholes on the road....the boy does NOT like bumps!!!
So on Thursday evening we went to my Aunt Bonnie and Uncle Dana and cousin Kathy's house to swim. It was hot out all day and we needed to cool off!

Muscle Men!

Catch me Dad!

We ended up going to their house 3 times while we were up there! Thanks again guys :)

Grandma and Baby Colt...his shirt says "Going to Grandma's"

Papa and Baby Colt on Friday morning.

Colt was in a great mood Friday morning...he slept great Thursday night...about 11 straight hours which made it really nice for the rest of us!

Starting to get excited because Friday's the day that Colt and Levi got to meet Aunt Emily and Uncle Ben! My next post will be about their visit with us!

My apologies...

....for not posting for a long time now. We have had major drama with Levi for the past few weeks or so. He was sick for about 10 days to 2 weeks with what we have eventually found out to be an organism in his intestines that causes bloody diarhea. We certaintly went through a lot....Anthony having to take off work, Levi running a 104 temp., an ER trip to get an IV because he was so dehydrated (Anthony said it took him, the dr. and 2 nurses to hold him down to get the IV in...so glad I wasn't there to see that!)...lots of pedialyte (p?), gatorade...boxes of diapers (Im not joking!)...meeting our pediatrician on her day off because Levi wasn't doing good...to thinking he had at first a virus, then we thought he had worms...yes, we sifted through many bloody poopy diapers...to sleepless nights...hearing Levi tell me he didn't want to play beacuse his belly hurt so bad..to seeing him double over in pain and cry because it hurt so bad, to seeing him curl up on the floor and not move for hours...to throw up all over our couch and floor...to starving him for a whole day trying to get the bacteria out of his system...to taking poop samples to be tested and Levi having his blood drawn to be tested...yes, we went through it all..and of course it all started over the 4th of July weekend (seems like someone is always sick on a holiday in our household!) So that is the reason also why I haven't posted any fun 4th of July pics...because I have none!! We had fun plans for the weekend but weren't able to do anything! We are so glad that he is finally feeling better and that life is somewhat back to normal!!

We were able to make the trip to my parents house last week so I will start posting pictures and stories from our trip up. Colt did awesome being his first trip away from home!!

Colt!

Colt is starting to coo a little more and he is also doing a good job of holding his head up! I have also started reading books to him. I did it with Levi and to this day, the child loves to read books, so I'm hoping Colt will pick up on it as well. He really does pay close attention to the pictures and he kicks his legs and moves his arms in excitement as I read. He really enjoys the rhyming books and the repition of the sounds. I have Levi help me read some books too, and he feels pretty special doing that. I make sure to tell Colt what a great big brother he has, because it is the truth!
Colt is changing so much, so I'm putting some close up pictures of him on this post! Hope you enjoy :)
Lifting his head up!
This is hard work mom!

I love him :)

So these next series of pictures tells the story perfect. He started out is a fantastic mood...cooing and smiling...

..still in a great mood and loving the attention...

...okay mom, I've had enough already...

..allright, you are making me whoop out the pouty lip...

...allright, one last little smile, if you promise to stop taking my picture!

He's still doing great as far as sleeping...lately he's been going to bed before Levi and sleeping later than Levi!! I hope he keeps this up :)
