Monkey Face!

Anthony is back to work tonight and they are calling for some snow. Hopefully it's not too bad and the roads stay okay for him. We were pretty busy on his days off this week. Well, I say, we, but in reality I should say, Anthony. We all went to the police gym on Tuesday while Anthony lifted. Levi and I played around in the gym and had lunch there. It was fun! Then on Wed. and Thursday Anthony replaced all of our window blinds. We just had the cheapo small plastic blinds in all of the front windows, so he replaced them with the kind that are bigger and look like wood. He did a GREAT job! He also replaced the chandaleir (sp?) in the playroom. It originally looked nice when we had the room as a dining room, but since making the change over to a play room, it was more of a nuisance than anything. I actually did help with that project as I helped hold up the light while he did the electrical stuff. He then also replaced the light above our kitchen sink. It has been burnt out now for about 4 months, and he just didn't think he could fix it. But after doing the play room light fixture, he was confident he could and he DID! It too looks great! He really is becoming such a handy man!

On a side note...tonight after dinner, I gave a chocolate chip cookie to Levi. As he sat at the kitchen table studying all the chips in it and eating it piece by piece, I asked him...Levi, hows your cookie taste? He replied ....MMMMMM, delicioso (which is Spanish for delicious) Are you kidding me?!?! My kid just answered me in Spanish. Apparently he's been watching too much Dora and Diego! ;)

Here's a picture of Levi doing his Monkey Face :)

State Champs!

We've been pretty busy lately....here's a little update.
Last week Papa Delimpo came to our house to celebrate Christmas...better late than never!

Last week Anthony totaled his police cruiser. He hit a patch of black ice while he was trying to catch up with a car who ran a stop sign, and he completely wiped out. By the grace of God, he wasn't injured..but his car was completely totaled! Good story to ask him about some time....
(good news about that is that it wasn't his car he was driving...his cruiser has been in the shop for about a week getting worked out! Funny how that worked out!)

We finally got Levi's 2 year old pictures taken (only a month and a half late!). I will be sending them out to family soon :)
My mom came down here for the weekend since she has Monday off of school. It's been a blessing having her here, because Anthony played in the Kentucky Police state tournament this weekend. This year's tournament was hosted in Lexington, so it worked out really well for us!

Anthony's team played on Friday night and won, Saturday day and won, and then had two games today, winning the championship game!! My mom and Levi came today to watch the games, and I got to go today and to yesterday's game! It was a lot of fun to see Anthony play competitive basketball again! All of the guys but 2 on his team were former college players, including one guy who played ball at UK back in the day of Joe B. Hall.

Makin' a move to the basket!

Levi had a great time at the gym!

Cheesin' with daddy!

Both of the Lexington teams....Anthony's team played them twice today beating them both times to win the championship! All of the guys here are police officers...pretty cool!

CHAMPS!

Anthony and Jeffrey (who Levi calls Uncle Jeff!)

We had a fun weekend of watching Anthony play. Thanks Mom for helping us out!!

Update on baby Colt- we have changed his middle name from Jefferson to Bradford. I am unbeleivably HUGE and he has been kicking the crap out of me. Another WILD BOY to add to our family!

Snow Day!

So yesterday after Anthony went to work, Levi and I got the itching to go outside and play in the snow. We both got all bundled up and headed out for the adventure. I decided to shovel out the driveway and sidewalks (can you tell I've been cooped up for a while?). However, we don't own a snow shovel, so I used a push broom and swepted all the snow off!
Levi was playing by the mailbox when he slipped and hit his head on the wood post. My neighbor saw it happen and told me as I quickly turned to go pick him up. On my way down the driveway, I totally slipped on the ice and busted my butt in the snow! Thank goodness it was a fairly soft landing and didn't hurt too badly. I think my neighbor thinks Im crazy...what 5 month pregnant lady would be out shoveling snow?! So we both picked up and dusted ourselves off and we were okay.
I pulled Levi around in his sled for a little while and he ran some more and had a good time just playing in the snow. We ended up staying outside for about an hour. Levi's face was all red, but he stayed pretty warm. I had to wrap his feet with sandwhich bags because we don't have any snowboots for him!

His cheeks got so red!

One of the neighbor girls pulled him down a little hill...he fell face first into the snow!

So he decided he was done with sledding and opted out for the trampoline!

Here's what I managed to do in an hour. Not to mention by the time we got back inside and finished dinner, it was all covered again! Oh-well, at least I got good exercise!

POOPY IN THE POTTY! YAY! :)

So we have been telling Levi for the past few days that if he goes poopy in the potty that we will give him m&m's. So yesterday I told Levi just that. He was asking me for m&m's as a snack, and I told him, Levi when you go poop on your toilet, you can have m&m's. He said, OKAY and took off full sprint for the bathroom. After a few minutes, he came out and told me he was all done and was ready for m&m's. I checked, and to no surprise his diaper was dry and clean. He kept whining for m&m's so I told him again. Again, he said OKAY and took off for the bathroom. After a few minutes this time, I decided to go in and check on him. There he was goofy grin and all telling me he was all done. Sure enough this time I checked and bingo, we had a winner! I was excited for him, but it still wasn't a big deal since the poop was still in his diaper. I gave him m&m's anyway and told him I was proud of him.

Which brings us to today. Tonight after dinner I again told Levi, if you can poop in the big boy toilet, you'll get m&m's. Without hesitation, he took off for the bathroom. Tonight I followed him and pulled him pants and diaper off and sat him on the seat. He tried getting up a few times, but I kept reinforcing the m&m's. I could tell he really wanted them. So after telling me to sit down and go poopy (I simply pretended to!), he finally did go number 1 and number 2 on his own seat! I was a proud mother tonight! :) We called Daddy instantly and told him all about it and then Levi got his m&m's! Then of course, I had the lovely job of cleaning out a poopy training potty, YUK!!!

We'll see what happens next, but hopefully this may be the start of something good. And even if it's not and tonight was just a fluke, it was still a fun thing to see Levi conquer such an achievement. Yes, I am a stay at home mom and I get excited about poopy in a potty! But I love my job and I love my family (most of the time!) Stay tuned for more storied from the potty...

Southern Lights Pictures

We ended up going back to the Kentucky horse park the week of Christmas to see the Southern Lights again. I would definitely NOT recommend going there the week of Christmas...it was totally packed out this time, the lines were super long and all the attractions were crammed with people. The first time we went, we didn't have to wait to ride the train and this time I think we waited almost 30 minutes. We still had a great time though! Here's some pictures of our night!

Some of the exotic animals inside the petting zoo!

Here comes the train!

Riding on the train..Levi's favorite part!

Vacation to Applebees!

Tonight Levi and I were playing with his car rug and all his barn animals, race cars and airplanes. After loading up all the animals on the airplane, I asked Levi where he was taking them to. He replied "On vacation". I said, wow, that's fun....where are you taking them on vacation at, he replied, "Applebees Mommy!" Funny kid :)

New Year!

It didn't look like the Delimpo household was off to a good start in the new year after the West Virginia Mountaineers both lost their football bowl game and their basketball games yesterday, however we totally bounced back and got wins from our beloved Buckeye football team last night and our most favorite, the Kentucky Wildcat basketball team today! The Bucks beat the Ducks last night to win the prestigous Rose Bowl and today, the Wildcats took down our state rival U of L today :) It's too bad that Anthony has missed all of these games because he's had to work, but through listening to the radio and me updating him every 10 seconds, he still had a pretty good idea what was going on.
Anthony did work on New Years Eve this year, but by the grace of God, he didn't have to work over!
We've been experimenting with our new camera and learning how it works, which has been fun. Here's a snapshot of Levi that Anthony took the other day!
