Making the best of a rainy day!

It has been rainy for what seems like weeks now.....yesterday was a nice day, but today was back to the cloudy and rainy weather....so we did our best to make the best of it! We ended up going to Frankfort to a nature center/fish and game type place. It was awesome! While we didn't get to do any of the outdoor things because it was raining, we did walk around the nature center and saw all sorts of creatures! Outdoors, there is a black bear, bison, a couple mountain lions, deer, a butterfly place, a cave with a waterfall and lots lots more! We plan on going back this summer. Levi had a blast, and Anthony and I really enjoyed it too! It's very educational and they have all sorts of exhibits for kids!

Looking at all the fish....what Levi called WHALES! The child is OBSESSED with whales currently, so this really excited him!

He walked up to the snake area and started hissing!

One of the workers even brought out a snake just for Levi! He actually did touch it!

This "fish" is a replica of one caught at Lake Cumberland...the biggest ever in Kentucky...we measured up Levi beside it....the fish is about twice as big!

Checking out one of the fake bears....can't wait to go back and see the real one outside!

We also saw frogs. birds and turtles today. They had a dragon turtle which was ENORMOUS and very very cool! All of the wildlife we saw today are wildlife from Kentucky...which was really cool to see! When we left, the lady at the front desk gave Levi a badge that had a bird on it. He thought it was so cool...the whole way home he kept saying all of the things he had seen, especially the "whales"! What a fun day we ended up having, even though it rained! Oh yes, and the best part about this place, is that it is FREE :)

Aw, what a fun family outing! Drew and I both laughed when we read about Levi hissing at the snake. Haha - too cute!
