Broadway at the Beach!

On Monday at the beach, we decided to go out for the evening. I was totally for not cooking dinner that night, so around 5 we all got ready and went out for Mexican food. Anthony had remembered this awesome Mexican resteraunt that his family used to go to and he wanted to take us there. Mexico Lindo was the name and it was AWESOME Mexican food! Levi ate a whole beef enchilada, his beans and rice and lots of chips and salsa, which he referred to as "ketchup" He also liked the resteraunt because on the outside there was a big Eagle on the sign and the Seafood resteraunt next door had a huge dolphin on their sign! The rest of the week when we drove by, he pointed out both the eagle and the dolphin.

So after we ate, we decided to head down to Broadway at the Beach. This is also a tradition of Anthony's family that we have also done ourselves when we go to the beach now. Normally we would pick the Tuesday to go because they have fireworks that night, but we knew we couldn't stay that late with Levi. The whole drive there, we got him pumped about seeing the dragon that comes out every hour and talks and breaths fire. It's pretty neat to see and we knew Levi would love it.

However when we got there, the dragon wasn't running because of high winds. We were so bummed! But something new that they have at Broadway this year that we have never seen before is a whole carnival area!! They had rides and games and fair foods....we were excited!

So each ride there was one ticket and you could buy individual tickets for 3 bucks each or you could buy 10 tickets for 20 bucks. We obviously didn't think Levi would last for 10 rides, so we just bought one. One ticket got both Anthony and Levi on the ride.

They had a GREAT time!! At first, Levi was a little timid, but once the ride got going, he started pointing to all the different animals, wanting to ride them ALL! So Anthony would move him from one to the next, until they landed on one that went up and down. And Levi really enjoyed that!

So after they were done, we walked around Broadway some more looking at the other neat things, when Levi started saying "ROUND and ROUND" and making circular motions with his arms. Anthony asked him, "What is it buddy?" While he continued to make circles with his arms, Levi replied, "DO IT AGAIN" (I think the way he prounces it, it "LIL-LIL-GIN") So we asked him if he was wanting to do the Carasel again, and he said "YES!!!!!"

So this time Mommy got to ride it with him!!

It was a lot of fun!! I love that Levi's face looks so enthused in this picture. He was a little shell shocked during our time at Broadway. His eyes were bloodshot and I thought he was getting really sleepy. Oh-no..because once we got back into the truck, he was WIDE AWAKE and repeating all of the animals that he got to ride. I guess he was just shy in the new surroundings. So the whole way back to the condo, we listened to "DUCK" "LION" "ZEBRA" "OSTRICH" and "HORSE"

It not only was a fun night for Levi, but a night of a special memory that Anthony and I will never forget...when Levi rode the carasel!
