This was the sight on the beach by the time we got out there! Hurricane Bill was lurking over and it was so neat to see. When you look at a radar map and you see a hurricane, you can tell the outside edges of it sort of look like little bent fingers in a swirling motion. It was exactly what we got to see. A band of dark clouds like this would come overhead and you could see blue sky behind and in front of it. When it would pass, another band of clouds would go through. It was like this for a few hours. So when we first got to the beach before we unpacked we instantly ran out just to put our feet in the water! It's sort of a tradition for our family to do that!
It was so humid and windy that all of the pictures I took were cloudy. I couldn't keep my camera lense cleaned off fast enough. This picture is Levi's first time seeing the ocean though! The video I took is pretty annoying as well, all you can hear is the wind static. So we stayed out just for a few minutes before heading back in and unloading. Thank goodness there was an elevator at our place because Anthony unloaded it all by himself! After that, we went grocery shopping, came back and ate dinner and then headed back out to the beach. By 6, the sky had opened up and it turned into a beautiful night so we headed back down to the beach.

Of course Anthony had to go out into the waves just to say he rode the waves of Hurricane Bill. I got a good video clip of him riding some of them.
Levi was in awe of all the water and all the sand. Anthony took him out in the shallow water where the waves came in and taught him how to "punch" and "kick" the waves. I can still hear Levi's giggles in my head!

Feeding the Sea Gulls, or as Levi called them all week long, EAGLES. And he wouldn't just say eagles, he had to SHOUT the word to make sure everyone at Myrtle Beach knew that he saw them! He enjoyed feeding them bread the first few days, but by the end of the trip...it was mainly Anthony and I feeding them, and Levi running and chasing them away. Either way, it was free entertainment for all of us and all of the people around us!
So he found a huge hole at the beach and instantly took a liking to it. So much that Anthony went to the store the next day just to buy a big beach shovel so he could dig him a big hole every day. Some days he'd even dig a few. Levi liked climbing in and out, sliding down, pushing his trucks up and down the sides, but most of all, he liked when the waves would start to come up and slowly the hole would fill up with water. He said that he was "taking a bath". Too bad that wasn't the case. At bath time later, I found sand in places I didn't even knew exsisted. Obviously I'm kidding, but the boy did bring in what seemed like pounds of sand in his diaper swimmer every day!

Levi really enjoyed the freedom of being able to run ANYWHERE he wanted to!!
Like I said, he enjoyed it alot!
So around 8:30 we headed back inside and got baths and showers and were able to sit on our balcony and watch the waves come in. The tide was still coming in pretty high because of the storm so it was neat to watch! It was a blessing having a condo with an ocean view right on the beach. We didn't have to worry about crossing any streets with traffic for one, and two, we had an amazing view to enjoy every morning, day and night! After Levi went to sleep, Anthony and I sat out on the deck and ate ice-cream! It was a perfect ending to what started out to be a stressful day with all the packing and unpacking and taveling and shopping and all.
Now, it's time to sit back, relax and enjoy our entire week stay at the beach!!
