Colt's room

I remember the day when we were looking to buy a house and we came upon the one we live in. At the time, we thought the house was too big for us and we couldn't imagine buying a house that we didn't need all the space. We used to have a guest room, I had my own scrapbooking room and a dining room and an office. Oh, how the times have changed. Our guest room and scrapbooking room got turned into Levi's room, pushing the guest room to go into the office. The dining room became a play room over a year ago for all of Levi's stuff. And last but not least, the office is getting changed to Colt's room, which has made us put the office into our bedroom and has forced Anthony's police closet to go into our walk-in closet. We are getting close to busting out of this house now as we have taken up almost every square inch of every room with something. The good news is that we sold our GMC Envoy so we now have tons of room in the garage!
Here's some first looks at our start of Colt's room!

The crib isn't ready yet obviously and I have some more decorating to do with the dresser...

The picture holder on the wall will come down and I have a white shelf that will go up on the wall above the book shelf. We also have a sports themed lamp that matches the nursey to go on the book shelf as well.

I have the letters for Colt's name to go up above the changing table.

As we get more done, I'll post more pictures, but I guess that's all for now!

On a side note- the first thing that Levi said to me this morning when he woke up was, "Mommy, I'm so glad you're here!" What a way to start my day off :)

Snow Day

Yesterday we were able to get outside and play for a little while. The sun was out and the snow is starting to finally melt, which made it good snow for building a snowman and snowballs! Levi seems to really enjoy playing in the snow, but I am definitely ready for spring and warmer weather! Here's some pictures of my 2 boys!

First they made a snowman...

...then they made a snow castle...

...and then Levi decided to try and burry his daddy in the snow!

I promise to get pictures of Colt's room on here soon! Just today we moved in the rest of his furniture. There is still lots to get done, but the big stuff is all done. We have moved the computer out of the office and now have a new computer armoire in our bedroom to hold everything. I'll try and post some pictures of that soon too.

We've all been really into watching the olympics lately. Even Levi gets into it. His favorite is skiing and speed skating, and sometimes figure skating (which doesn't make Anthony very happy! haha). It's been nice having Anthony off of work for 6 days in a row, but now it's back to the normal schedual. I'll try and post more on here this weekend!

Happy Valentine's Day!

We celebrated Valentine's day by going to church this morning and tonight we are going to go out for dinner :) It's supposed to start snowing tonight and the weatherman is calling for 5-7 inches...we'll see how much we really get!

Me and Levi..my little Valentine!

Daddy and Levi on Valentine's Day!

Anthony and Levi got me flowers for Valentine's day this year! They are so beautiful...shipped straight from South America, thanks to Proflowers.com! There was supposed to be a bear included in the box, but they forgot it....so Anthony got a discount on the flowers instead....sounds like a great deal to me!

Aren't they pretty!?

Levi and I got Anthony something little. We decorated a box and put NERDS candy in it and some of those Cadbury Eggs...both are Anthony's favorite. Levi had a great time helping me make it....actually he ended up with his hands covered in glue stick and pieces of paper all over the place, but he had a good time.

Our finished product!

This morning when we gave our gift to Anthony, Levi ran up to him with a great big smile on his face and said, "Happy Valentine's Day Daddy!" It was precious :) And through-out the rest of the day today, he's been telling us both "Happy Valentine's Day Mommy and Daddy!"
So this past week I had a little bit of a scare with my pregnany. Actually it wasn't a "scare" but more of an inconvenience. On Wednesday I had my normal dr. appt. and this time I had to drink a glucola drink (basically all sugar) to have my sugar tested. I had to drink the stuff exactly one hour before going in and then have my finger pricked to test my levels.
Stupid me, I had eaten a bowl of cereal and drank orange juice before I went in. They said you could eat and drink before drinking the glucola, but nothing after. Since I still get nauseated if I have nothing in my stomach, I ate breakfast as normal that morning to help me feel better. Well, big surpise..my sugar levels came back higher than normal. This meant that I could have gestational diabetes. I was pretty upset about this, but the nurse assured me that after further testing I could find out that I didn't have it. I'll be honest, I was pretty mad about it too...this pregnancy has been pretty rough already and this was not the news I wanted to hear!
So the next morning, after fasting since the night before (yes, I felt nauseated going in!) I had to go to the lab by my dr's office and go through more testing. This consisted of drinking more of the nasty sugar drink...which this time was more concentrated and was little bit more in volumn and have my blood drawn 4 times. Once before I drank the stuff, then every hour for 3 hours after. And for some reason, I have horendous viens for taking blood, so I got stuck about 6 times in the same arm over the course of the 3 hours I was there! I had to drink the stuff quickly and it make me feel pretty nauseated once again! NOT FUN! And did I mention how bored I was sitting there for 3 hours and uncomfortable those waiting room chairs were! My arm is black and blue today from all those needles!
My dr's office said they would only call if I indeed had gestational diabetes and from there I would be set up with a diabetes counselor (fun!) I had asked my freind Jennafer who's the nurse at my dr's office what that would all entail and she informed me of dieting, exericising and pricking myself 4 times a day to check my sugar levels. To say the least, I was not excited upon hearing this news! If you remember, I passed out when I had to stick a needle in myself when I had the zofran pump. So..I was really praying that I had passed the test!
The next day I got a phone call. I totally freaked because they said they would only call if I failed the test. For about 2 minutes, I was frozen! I then checked the voicemail to hear Jennafer's voice saying I had nothing to worry about and that I was completely normal! YAY!!!! I was thrilled to get that news and relieved that my sugar levels were fine :) After thinking about it, I rememberd that with Levi that I did not eat or drink anything before the glucola stuff and I passed that first time with no problems. So word to the wise...if you go in for a glucose test...just don't eat or drink anything at all!!!

Here I am with baby Colt inside...yes, I am HUGE!!! We started this weekend decorating the nursery and moving stuff out of the office....on my next blog, I'll post some pictures of that!

TAXES!!!!

We are at the stage in our lives, that we LOVE doing our taxes....and that's because we get money BACK from the government :) So Anthony did ours this past week and we've been able to purchase a few new things, which has been fun! We are going to order Colt's room decor today off the internet and it should be here in 1-3 weeks. I can't wait to get started! We are hoping that it will match the green color that's already in the office so that we won't have to repaint! We are getting the bedding and the curtains from the picture below.

Anthony and Levi are off to the gym today and I'm able to get caught up on a few things which is nice. A couple days ago Anthony gave Levi a haircut. It was Anthony's first time doing it, but he did a fantastic job! Levi did really great too while he cut it. So much easier and cheaper than taking him to Lexington to get it done!

Levi after his haircut!

So it's the time of year for our alumni weekend and big surprise...they are calling for snow!!!!!! I promise you, the past 2 years we have fought and fought to get up there. Last year was when we had the huge ice storm and we lost power the day we were supposed to leave. This year, we have been watching the weather for a week now and just last night we saw that the snow is coming. Ohio is predicted for 6-12 inches I believe is what Anthony told me this morning. He wasn't going to be able to go anyway, but Levi and I were. I cannot even begin to say how disspointed I am. A TON of my freinds and teammates are going this year and it would have meant so much to me to get to see them. It was going to work out nice because I was going to pick up all the baby stuff that my parents have been storing at their house for us. My mom even already washed all the baby clothes up for me. I guess I'll have to figure out another way and time to get the stuff. I also had gifts for all my pregnant freinds who were going to be there! 3 of my teammates, and 1 other freind are currently pregnant along with me! I know God has other plans than we do, but sometimes it's just hard to understand them! I miss my freinds so much!!

Anyway, we will try and make the best of it...but what also stinks is that while they get all that snow, we down here in Kentucky will problaby just get nasty ugly rain! Booooooo!!!!!
