Happy Halloween!

Last night was our neighborhood's trick-or-treat. Levi was literally bouncing off the walls the second he woke up yesterday morning! He was so excited :) We kept telling him it wasn't time to go until after we ate dinner....so he kept asking all day if he could eat dinner. Finally around 4:30 I gave into him. He ate so fast that a few seconds after he was done, he ran to the trashcan and threw it all up!!!! I told you he was excited! LOL! When it really did come time to get him dressed we told him, "it's here now Levi" and he looked at us and goes, "NAHHHH, you're teasing me." It was a little chaotic at first because I was trying to get dinner done, cleaned up, Colt's bath, get him nursed and get both boys (I should say all 3 boys!) ready....but we managed!

Starting about 4 months ago, Levi has told us he wanted to be a train conductor for trick-or-treat. At first I thought I would try and make the costume, however after pricing material and bibs, I found this one for a lot cheaper on amazon.com...it turned out perfect. Levi has been asking to wear it since we got it last month...finally he was able to last night!

I think he made a great little train conductor...he had his whistle and everything :)

Daddy with both little monsters before trick-or-treat started!

Our little Wildcat!

Colt's bedtime is 6:00, so he was pretty cranky to start off! It started at 6 and goes till 8. He lasted a few houses in the stoller and then I put him in my papoose carrier for the rest of the night and he fell asleep..it was nice because he kept me nice and warm!

Here was what we set out at our house since we weren't home...Levi kept asking if he could have our candy!

Anthony's costume....a walking GOP advertisment ;)

Our Arab neighbors Forrest and Carol ;)

...and later that night Anthony took his turn!

Levi started off on his own...

...then found his buddy Trevor!

...then we met up with his buddy Grason. Levi ended up going with him and his sister Arissa and we walked with their parents, our freinds Wayne and Sonya. Levi enjoyed it so much better with his friends!

Then Kaden and his daddy Ken found us and joined the group too :) Colt and Kaden had the same costume!

Stopping by Grason and Arissa's house to get candy!

Colt did wake up towards the end and was in a fantastic mood! We walked most of the neighborhood, but not all of it, and finished up around 7:15.

Checking out his stash!

Mommy- I want THISSSSS!!!!!

Mommy and baby Wildcat :)

It was such a fun night..the first year Anthony has had off work since Levi's been born, so it was fun to go as a whole family!

Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A couple of days ago, we got a private invitation to the Republican Headquarters in Lexington for a rally for all the GOP base supporters. We volunteered to go door to door in our neighborhood campainging so that's why we are on the list. Yesterday and today we went around the neighborhood with both kids and passed out information...even Levi helped take stuff up to people's doorsteps...that was pretty cool to see. He was really into it, but about 3/4 the way through it, he started getting tired saying his legs were tired. We were really proud of him and he had a blast doing it. He loves Andy Barr...and he calls Rand Paul "Grandpa"...they do sound pretty similar! So anyway...back to today.....we went downtown with the hopes of seeing Mitch McConnell only. The invitation said he would be doing a "meet and greet" type thing, so we were pretty pumped about that!

When he first arrived, I asked if he would take a picture with Colt...he told me to get in the picture too!

First Andy Barr spoke then Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell....how cool that the Senate Minority leader is from Kentucky!

Mitch McConnell's wife, Elaine Chow...she was the Secretary of Labor during George W. Bush's 8 years in office! I met and talked with her....she told me that our children are gorgeous and that Levi has the most beautiful eyes she's ever seen! She was a very sweet lady :)

So when Mitch McConnell was speaking, he made a reference to Rand Paul and pointed over in the crowd....we had NO IDEA he was going to be there!!! It was a surprise to everyone and was AWESOME! I guess they kept it very low key after the incident that happened last week at the debate.

His wife is behind him...she's beautiful! And he's a great speaker!

Afterwards, Anthony and Levi got a turn with Mitch McConnell!

And lastly, (but most excitingly to Anthony) we grabbed Dr. Paul before he got away. He was shacking hands with all the state reps that were there and we snuck over and got in the end of the line. I yelled out....Dr. Paul..can we get a picture with our kids? And he was so nice to take the time for us....a random lady asked if our whole family wanted in the picture, so that's how that happened!

Doctor's Office Trip (updated version)

*** I forgot to mention when I posted this yesterday that Colt measured in at 29 inches and 17 pounds. That's 4 inches in 2 months taking him from the 50% all the way up to the 100%...no wonder the boy has been fussy lately...and I thought it was teeth....I guess it was his bones growing, LOL. They even had to measure him twice to make sure they got it right!! His weight is 50% and his little head is still only 30%...talk about disproportional....maybe in the next couple months his head will hit a growth spurt ;)***
I did it!!! I actually took both boys to the doctor today for shots!!! Anthony had a dr. appt. of his own, so I was on my own this morning. Colt had his 6 month check up, which included 3 vaccines and a flu shot and Levi had to get the second round of his flu shot. Let's just say this....I consider myself to be somewhat talented to be able to nurse a baby and wipe a toddler's butt at the same time! LOL. No- actually I didn't do it exactly at the same time- but it was very close! I had to leave the office room twice with Levi to use the restroom and take Colt with us too. When Levi called out he needed to do a #2, I was in the middle of feeding Colt. I was really trying to get Levi to hold it so that my milk wouldn't go flying everywhere....but when a boy in training needs to go...the boy needs to go NOW! LOL. So Colt sacrificed, unwillingly I'm sure of...and we made it in time! The shots went fine, although I'm sure the whole city of Lexington could have heard Levi screaming!!! He gets himself all worked up and cries before it happens and then once it's over he's like....okay, that wasn't so bad! He must take after Anthony ;) ;) I can't believe Colt is old enough now to start some table food!!! I think I'm going to wait on that though....no need to rush into things!

These moments are rare anymore that he will fall asleep on me....so I soaked it up for all that it was worth :)

With the colder weather...we've had to break out some of the "indoor" activities.

Still loving his jump-up!

Levi being silly...so this past week we've all still been fighting our colds...I have a bag of the Vitamin C drops to suck on and Levi keeps asking me if he can have a "Vitamin Seed" to help him feel better!

Colt demands the spoon when he eats! So messy!

This weekend is trick-or-treat...Levi is very excited! So stay tuned for pictures of our little monsters :)

Election Season!

Last Saturday we took Colt down to the Republican Headquarters in Lexington because Andy Barr was going to be speaking with an appearance by House Minority Leader John Boehner.

Mr. Boehner is actually the representative in Ohio from where I grew up, so we tried getting his attention by Colt's Ohio State outfit. I'm pretty sure he caught a glimpse of it while he was speaking, however- he came in, spoke for 5 minutes and then was out the door onto his bus immediately.

We did however get to meet Andy Barr AGAIN, lol. This time making sure to get Colt in the picture.

The coincidence about the whole situation was that 2 years ago to the exact date, we saw Mr. Boehner in Troy Ohio when he introduced Sarah Palin. That was the day that Sarah Palin saw Levi as a little baby (10 months old) and said what a cute baby he was! Yes, we are definitely starting our children out young and teaching them what it means to be a conservative :) We definitely have Levi trained....the other night we were looking through some pictures and he saw a picture with a political sign in it...I can't remember which one (but it wasn't Andy Barr) He said, "Is that an Andy Barr sign??"Hopefully next Tuesday will be a victory for all of our candiates and we can take back our country!!!!!!
Oh yes, and if you have seen the incident in Lexington, Kentucky at the Jack Conway/Rand Paul debates....one of our church deacons is all over the video...I'm partly ashamed to admit that. She's not the women who was thrown down....but the women stepping over her. My question is how can a Christian, let alone a deacon of a church, be such a left wing liberal??? It doesn't make sense to me....if anybody has any answers for me, I'd love to hear them. And by the way, Jack Conway is the most arrogant self-indulged most ridiculous person I've seen in politics for a long time...oh no wait...I forgot who our president was for a second.
I better wrap my ramblings up...I'm gonna get myself into trouble!

Colt 6 months old!

I missed putting Colt's 6 month pictures on here on the 24th, however we are all still fighting some nasty funk of a cold...so I haven't been up to doing much lately.
Looking back on the last 6 months, I have so much to be thankful for. The Lord has blessed Anthony and me with 2 wonderful little boys! Colt is starting to get more active and more on high demand. I guess I didn't realize how easy it was having a newborn compared to what stage he's in now. I never thought I would find myself saying it was easy having a newborn, because Levi was AWFUL as a newborn. However, Colt was pretty layed back which made it nice. Now enters a more difficult stage, although the funny thing is, I know that in 6 more months, I'll look back and think....man, I had it so easy then before Colt starting crawling...walking...so on. Oh- the days I look forward to my boys fighting and not sharing and telling on each other....yes, I'm sure I'll miss this stage!
With that said...I am still thankful that Colt is a great sleeper. Last night he went down at 5:30 and I had to wake him up at 7:45 this morning. Now I know that sounds great and all, but the child was a holy terror during the day!! He loves to be entertained and if he's not getting it, he will let you know! I feel bad for him too because with Levi- he got adult stimulation...poor Colt- he's getting his older brother's ignorant stimulation. Levi loves to get in his face while I'm reading to him, and go BLAHHHHH BLAHHHH BLAHHHHH!!!! Geeez- if Colt can learn words and to talk by the time he goes to kindergarden, then I'll consider it a success!
Colt does love his brother and he does get into a good belly laugh when Levi's being a dork. It is neat to see their interaction, small as it may be for now. The other day, I was taking the boys to the park when Levi starting talking to me about Jesus. We've been reading stories about how Jesus is strong, so I think that may have been what struck up this conversation. He told me, "Mommy- Jesus protects me!!!" I said "Yes he sure does...does he protect mommy and daddy too?" He said, "YES!!!!" I said, "what about baby Colt?" He replied, YES!!! Jesus protects Colt because He can punch anything!" Yes- I'm guessing Levi made the connection that being strong means you can punch anything. Levi does have a sense of being the big protective brother to Colt, however if there's anything too big that Levi doesn't want to save Colt from-he'll be sure to tell me that "Jesus can do it!"
Here's a few pictures of Colt...a few days after he turned 6 months..don't mind the snot coming out of his nose!!!

I'm making Birthday Books for the boys which include pictures every year on their birthday and then a letter that I write to them telling them about their personalities and things that we have done during the previous year or milestones they've accomplished....I'm hoping to get Levi's 3rd year letter started soon because he will be 3 before I know it!

Stay tuned-I have some good blogs to do including the day we saw Minority Leader John Boehner and Andy Barr.

An email I got today....

Self explanatory" Just look at the paraphernalia that his "aides" have to carry into a school in order for him to speak to kids. Unbelievable! I think these 2 pictures make some kind of statement!

Here is what Obama needs set up to talk to a few school children. Not much room for kids. Still needs to have a TelePrompTer. The secret service guy in the back keeps eyes out for any terrorist-type-8-year-olds with tea partying parents. His I.Q. gives him away!

Here's what the last guy needed! I want my country back! Remember in November!

Grandma's visit!

This blog is just a variety of pictures from when my mom was here...they are completely out of order...but it'll save me lots of time to leave them like this....you still get the point! Enjoy :)

Happy Colt...of course he's happy- mommy is holding him....he is totally a mommy's boy. He's going through a little stranger anxiety right now...if someone he doesn't recognize, gets in his face...he totally losses it!! It's kind of funny and precious at the same time, because he will calm right down once I get ahold of him :)

Around back, playing in the leaves...

Daddy covered Levi up!

Levi swinging...HIGHER DAD!!!!

Colt's turn....this is high enough!

Climbing over the horse fence...

We saved some of the packaging from when we got our new stove.....Levi uses them as slides :)

This is my big boy Levi, who is now potty trained! WOOOOOOO!!!! We are already saving a lot of money from diapers. The next step will be saving money from all of the treasure's we've been using in his treasure box when he poops! He's done getting rewards when he pees...so that's an accomplishment :)

Grandma and the kiddo's!

It was Christmas in October for me....Mom got me some picture frames that I've been wanting to hang up pictures of the boys. I picked them out and instead of making me wait until Christmas to get them, she gave them to me early :) They look great hanging up!

Both boys going down the slide! Bubs can't wait for Bubby to be able to play with him!

On the day Grandma came, Colt learned how to get up on his hands and knees and start rocking!

He was bouncing with Grandma in this picture....he loves to bounce!

Rocking again...hopefully he stays this way for a while...I'm not ready for him to start moving!!

Grandma and happy Colt :)

Grandma's worn off on him...he loves her!

Levi and Colt in the morning one morning....Levi doesn't ask to hold him as much anymore like he used to, but every once in a while he will ask. On this morning he wanted to...after this picture Levi layed down and put Colt on his belly. Colt loved it....so much that he started to lick and drool and kiss all over Levi's face. It totally freaked Levi out, as he told me in a panic- "Mommy, Colt's licking me!!!!!!" I told him...."so what, just lick him back!" And sure enough he did exactly that, and he was completely fine with it!

Thanks Grandma for coming to visit all of us :) We love you!!!
