Levi's 3rd Birthday with us...

These pictures are in reverse order of Levi's real birthday day...to put them in the correct order would take a lot of time.....which I really don't have right now....so here's his birthday day....in reverse!

That night we took Levi's to Gatti's...here he is with his birthday meal..PIZZA!

We let him play a few games to add to the celebration! His first time playing ski-ball!

Out of all the games....he loved air hockey the most...I think he played 3 or 4 games!

That afternoon we went outside to play....talk about the best birthday gift a kid can get...SNOW!!!

Our backyard is great for 2 things....slip-n-slid and sledding!!!!

Snowball fight with Daddy!

That morning when Levi woke up, he was very excited to get his gift from his brother!

Colt gave him "the KING"..he was very happy about that!

Levi with the gifts we gave him....thanks to Tiffany and Bo for the amazing train set. We bought it from them on their garage sale this fall for 40 bucks....the stuff they gave us was probably worth around $600 dollars I would guess??? I don't know, but I do know the Thomas train stuff is expensive!

It was the best gift ever according to Levi...I hope he doesnt think he will get this much every birthday....we kind of lucked out this year!

We took Levi for his 3 year check-up last week. He got one shot and was very brave. He cried before they gave it to him saying he was scared.....we reminded him to remember what he's supposed to think about when he's scared, and so he said out loud, "PROTECT ME JESUS!" The nurses thought it was precious :) He is 42 inches and weighs 42 pounds....I thought that was kind of neat (my college basketball # was 42, lol) Both are the 97 percentile for his age. When Dr. Taylor asked him questions about colors, letters, numbers and such...Levi responded great to her. So much that she sarcastically asked him to count in Spanish, which he did. She about died laughing! Anyway, after that Colt had to get a flu shot....the boy never even shed a tear. I think he may be our tough child...which from what I hear, is common for the second child!

Colt got his first tooth this Friday...his smile is changing too...I'm not ready for him to grow up!!

Stay tuned...I will post pictures soon of our time this weekend when Santa Claus came to Midway on the train.!

Southern Lights!

Last Friday we bundled up the kids and drove to the Kentucky Horse Park for our annual trip to see the Southern Lights. I say annual....but this is only our second year doing it! We are hoping to be able to do it every year though, so that's why I say annual!

Getting ready to leave...Levi was real pumped up about it!

My one and only attempt at the ligths..I couldn't figure out how to do it with my camera and honestly I just wanted to enjoy them and not worry about taking pictures. Did I mention that I also had one hyper 7 month old on my lap. By the time we left..it was already past Colt's normal bedtime, but he was crazy hyper during the car ride!

Getting ready to board the train! Levi remembered this part from last year!

Daddy and son on train!

Mommy and other son on train...I have no idea why my eyes are the size of bowling balls...I guess I was excited to ride the train!

Inside....seeing the horse, I forget his name. Levi wasn't real crazy about him....he was itching to go see the little trains!

But first we checked out the petting zoo!

Colt's first time seeing the camels....oh wait, he was asleep!

Finally getting to see the trains....I think we were inside this part for about 30 minutes!

Colt woke up and watched the trains too....he really enjoys watching Levi's train at home go round and round, so he really was watching these ones too!

He couldn't get his face close enough!

Before heading home, we stopped and splurged on a funnel cake :) It was GOOOOOD! We had a great time as a family and like I said, hopefully we get to do it ever year. However, some good freinds of our went to this thing called Lights Under Louisville which I think we may do next year....google it if you want to see what it's all about!

Next blog will be Levi's birthday day when we took him to Gatti's :)

A few random thoughts.....

I have some cute pictures of the boys to add, but for tonight, I'm just going to post my ramblings for the day. My college basketball coach used to send out emails with a list of things he wanted to talk about, either with bullets or using #'s to make the list.....tonight, I will use bullets....or asterisks (however the heck that word is spelled!)

*I forgot to mention in my last blog that on Black Friday, I got pulled over by a state trooper. I was going way too fast on the interstate, so I definitely deserved to be pulled over. But being a wife of a police officer, you can probably guess what happened ;)

**Levi is at this stage in his life where he can drive me absolutely bonkers one second and the next say one of the funniest things that makes me just flat out lose it. Today out of the blue, he says, "Mommy, do dogs take cat naps?" He then gave me no time to answer him, but instead answered himself..."NAH, only CATS can take cat naps!" I have no clue where that one came from!

***Last night Levi was taking his bath when I heard what sounded like Hurricane Katrina going off in the bathroom. I rushed over to find water all over the bathroom floor, and what Im guessing had been previously pretty huge waves were, by that time, beginning to settle in the tub. He was also holding onto his lego boat...so my mind was already getting the picture of what had been going on. I gave him that stern motherly look of mine and said, "what in the world is going on in here???" He excitedly told me, "LOOK Mommy!!! JESUS CALMED THE SEA!!!!!" I about lost it, LOL LOL LOL! He then explained to me that the waves had been "HUGE ONES", but the men in the boat called out "LORD LORD! and then Jesus came and saved them" I promise I'm not making one bit of that up!!! I'm so excited that he has been understanding some of the bible stories he's learning!

****So today Anthony was coming down the stairs with Colt....I was in the kitchen making his lunch when all of a sudden I heard this HUGE CRASH from the stairs.....I rushed over to find Anthony laying on the steps and Colt laying in the middle of the floor screaming!!! It seriously SCARED ME TO DEATH!!!!! There was juice everywhere as well. I quickly picked up Colt to make sure he was okay...which he was....I think he was just scared too. Anthony was okay too, thank the Lord. It really could have been a lot worse, however when Anthony fell, he fell backwards so that Colt could just go on top of him. But I gotta tell ya, I thought for sure Colt had flown threw the air and landed on the floor when I got to him. You would think that a college athlete like Anthony could handle walking down the stairs!!! The juice was from the cup that Anthony was carrying from Levi's room. It went everywhere, but wasn't too much of a mess to clean up. After I found out everyone was okay....I think we both laughed about it for at least 10 good minutes!

*****My random thought of today....so I was shopping this morning and had to pick up some laundry detergent. Is it just me, or does anyone else think its absurd that the jugs claim to wash 32 loads?? I'd like to know what person gets that many loads of laundry done out of one of those bottles...seriously, is the person just washing one towel and a pair of underwear per load????

******And after all of these random thoughts, I will leave you with the verse that was on my heart today....

"For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. Plans to prosper you, not to harm you. Plans to give you a hope and a future." Jer. 29:11

I love this verse because it reminds me that no matter where I am in life...no matter what happens in my life, that God is in control. :)

Stay tuned for those pictures...I'll try and get them up sometime soon!

Thanksgiving and more...

Do you ever wonder when your child is going through a growth spurt? Well....no wonder here...I know for a fact that Colt just went through a major one. 2 nights ago he went to bed at 5:00 and slept till 7:30 the next morning....I had to go wake him up once before I went to bed to nurse him. Then last night he went to bed, no joke, at 4:45 and slept till 7:30 this morning...I again fed him late last night before I went to bed, just to make sure he got his last meal in for the day! With that said, today he took an hour nap this morning and a 2 1/2 hour nap this afternoon, which is unheard of for him. He has been eating like a moose this past week....going through an average of 3-4 baby food containers and cereal a day, as well as some extra milk before bed. Finally today we figured it out. He's talking up a storm!!! He can now say his "mmm" sounds, some "bbbb" sounds but most endearing to us, he's saying, "da-da-da" We know he doesn't know that he's saying da-da, but it's still so precious. I guess Anthony deserves that afterall...Levi's first word was "ma-ma" :) Colt is also so close to crawling...he's now at the stage of moving backwards....it won't be long!
Here's some new pictures to enjoy!

I meant to put these on the blog post I did about Levi's birthday party....these were the "ticket" invitations sent out to his friends.

Thanksgiving Day

Colt and the turkey! It was just our family this year for Thanksgiving and it was my first time cooking the turkey...it turned out great...at least we thought so! Colt actually had his first Thanksgiving meal too....mashed potatoes!

Later that night, we put up the tree....when we realized that half of our lights didn't work, I ended up going to Lowe's on Black Friday the next morning to pick up some new ones. Thank goodness I didn't fight any crowds!

That same day (Friday) we got some snow! Levi harrassed us all morning to go out and play in it. It was soooo cold, but we finally gave in (well, I should say that I finally made Anthony go outside with him, lol...I took this picture from inside the warm house!)

Levi had a fantastic time! We just need to get him some boots and gloves for the next snow!

This was taken a couple of weeks ago...Colt thought it was absolutely hilarious to get a bath with his bubby! Levi enjoyed it too....both boys were laughing so hard!

Since this weekend is Levi's real birthday, he has been getting some gifts in the mail. This one's from Pa-pa Delimpo and Miss Carol. LEGO's!!! Levi was very excited!!

And last night, the UPS amn delivered this from Uncle Ben and Aunt Emily. It's the "Armor of God" How cool is that?! Levi LOVES it!!!!!!!! He thinks he is a "knight" and a "warrior" and a "solider" He posed a bunch of different times for the camera....he's a goofy kid!

Thanks all who have made Levi's birthday more than special! Speaking of Levi, I better go get his butt in the bathtub...he's running around naked!
