Today we had the honor and privilege to see the 41st President of the United States, George H. W. Bush speak at the campus of Georgetown College. The college was naming their fitness center after Bush, who was very instrumental in funding and supporting the fight against obesity during his term of presidency. He helped start a program to do with golf and kids and scholarships and so therefore the chairman and CEO of the Ryder's Cup were present today as well. Cool if you like golf!
This was Levi before Bush got there. His plane was late to land so it took a little while before the program started. We got their at 10 a.m. and it didn't end up starting until about 11:30. Levi was a trooper!! He proudly wore his TEXAS shirt in support of the Bush families, and it even drew the attention of a newspaper reporter who came over and "interviewed" Levi. Mommy and Daddy had to do all the talking, but it was great! She asked all sorts of questions and she came to find out that we named Levi's middle name after George W. (Walker) Bush. When she asked us why we did that we told her 2 reasons. 1. We admire George W. and 2. When I was in labor, he was on TV doing a press conference which was showing in my delivering room and I even have a picture to prove it! GO HERE to view the story in the LouisvilleNewspaper!
Here is everyone standing for the National Anthem! We had great seats....only about 6 rows back!
We tried to get up front so that he could meet Levi, but by the time we got there, he was gone! We heard he had to book it over to Louisville to be present for the Ryder's Cup.
It's a good thing that Levi was awake when George Bush made his big entrance because he passed out just before he spoke and slept during the whole thing!
This was the sign we took just in case we he was taking his time shaking hands at the end. We didn't get a chance to use it though!
